Thanks to those who attended!

The Annual Distinguished Friends Scotch and Cigar Party is an event whose modest beginnings trace back to December 2011. While attending a party celebrating another liquor, the founder was challenged to create an event that championed something a little more refined. Thus, the original Scotch & Cigar Party was born.

The Goal was simple, “celebrate the finer things in life.” The founder describes that as products that share 3 main characteristics: They take time, effort and skill to create. Scotch, by law, must be aged in a second-fill barrel within the borders of Scotland for no less than 8 years. Thus satisfying the first two characteristics in order to be able to legally be marketed as “Single Malt Scotch.” Then the skill of the Malt Master defines the flavor profile by artfully selecting the correct aging barrels to pluck, marry together and bottle in such consistency that we never notice the difference from one bottle purchased to the next time we re-stock our favorite dram. Premium cigars are expertly crafted by master cigar blenders. The quality of the aged tobacco and how the balance of the binder, filler and wrapper is achieved is paramount to the quality of the Cigar. The master cigar blender then relies upon the skill and consistency of the cigar roller to ensure the flavor profile is repeated for each and every box of cigars. Again, a process by which the 3 characteristics of the “finer things” is a bedrock of the product.

Our event is the opportunity to broaden your palate, whether you’ve never tried a cigar or Scotch, it aims to enhance everyone’s level of Scotch and Cigar appreciation. Over the past 12 iterations of the Party, we’ve featured nearly 180 different Scotchs and countless varieties of cigars. Every year, we feature bottles representing each Scotch-producing region and pair them with fine cigars.

Tasting notes for each bottle and featured cigars are provided for your benefit. As is the tradition now, the dress code will be cocktail casual attire. There is no such thing as too fancy an outfit for the occasion, so please don’t be under dressed. As the saying goes: “If you’re going to drink scotch and smoke a cigar, you might as well look good doing it.”

We’re always looking to bring more ladies and gentlemen into our Scotch and Cigar fraternity, so please feel free to invite your friends by sharing this website.
